REVE Systems Ltd. (“we”, “us”, or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how the Salat - Prayer Times and Qibla Finder mobile application (the “App”) handles information when you use it on your Android or iOS device.
We have designed the App to be privacy-friendly by default. We do not operate user accounts, we do not run advertising or analytics inside the App, and we do not transmit your personal data to our servers or to third parties. Almost all data processing happens entirely on your device.

2. Information the App Handles
The App processes the following information locally on your device. None of this information is uploaded to REVE Systems Ltd. or to any external server.
2.1 Location Data
- The App uses your device’s GPS and/or network-based location to determine your latitude and longitude.
- Your coordinates are used to (a) calculate accurate prayer times for your geographic location, and (b) compute the direction of the Qibla (the bearing toward the Kaaba in Mecca) relative to your current position.
- The App requests location only while it is in use. It does not access your location in the background.
- If you deny location permission, the App falls back to your device timezone or a default location (Mecca) so that core features continue to work.
2.2 City and Address Information
- The App may convert your coordinates into a human-readable city or place name using your device’s built-in geocoding services (provided by the operating system).
- You may also manually select a city. Recently selected cities are stored on your device for convenience.
2.3 Compass / Sensor Data
- The App reads your device’s magnetometer (compass) sensor in real time to display the Qibla direction.
- Compass readings are used live and are not stored or transmitted.
2.4 Preferences and Settings
The App stores the following on-device using your operating system’s standard preference storage:
- Selected prayer time calculation method and madhab (school of jurisprudence).
- Per-prayer reminder settings (enabled/disabled, reminder type — Adhan, Tone, or Vibrate — and how many minutes before the prayer to remind you).
- Auto-detect-location toggle, current location, and recent cities list.
- First-launch / onboarding flag.
2.5 Information We Do Not Collect
- No name, email address, phone number, or contact information.
- No device identifiers (advertising ID, IMEI, etc.) are collected by us.
- No contacts, photos, microphone audio, camera images, SMS, or call data.
- No usage analytics, crash reports, or behavioral telemetry.
3. Device Permissions We Request

You can change or revoke any of these permissions at any time from your device’s system settings. If you revoke location or notification permissions, related features will be limited or unavailable.
4. How Information Is Used
All information described above is used solely to operate the App’s core features on your device:
- Calculating daily prayer times using offline algorithms (no API call is made for prayer times).
- Computing Qibla direction relative to your position.
- Displaying the Hijri (Islamic) calendar date.
- Scheduling and delivering local prayer-time reminders, including playing the Adhan audio bundled with the App when you choose that reminder style.
- Remembering your preferences between sessions.
We do not use your information for advertising, profiling, or any form of tracking.
5. Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell, rent, trade, or share your personal information with third parties. Because the App does not transmit your data off your device, there is generally nothing to share.
We may disclose information only if required by law, legal process, or a valid governmental request — but in practice we do not hold any user data on our servers to disclose.
6. Data Retention and Deletion
All data the App stores remains on your device. You can delete it at any time by:
- Clearing the App’s storage from your device’s system settings, or
- Uninstalling the App, which removes all locally stored data.
Because we do not collect or store your data on our servers, there is no separate request needed to have your data deleted from us.
7. Security
Settings and preferences are stored in your device’s app-private storage area, which is sandboxed by the operating system and not accessible to other apps under normal conditions. We recommend that you keep your device’s operating system up to date, use a screen lock, and avoid installing the App on rooted/jailbroken devices, as these can weaken the OS-level protections that this App relies on.
No method of electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Children’s Privacy
The App is appropriate for general audiences and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because the App does not collect personal information from any user, this applies equally to children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us so we can address the matter.
9. Your Rights
Depending on where you live (for example, the EU/UK under GDPR, California under the CCPA, or other jurisdictions), you may have rights regarding personal data, including:
- The right to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you.
- The right to object to or restrict certain processing.
- The right to data portability.
- The right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority.
Because the App does not collect personal data on our servers, in most cases we have no personal data about you to access, correct, port, or delete. If you still wish to exercise any right, you can contact us using the details below.
10. International Users
The App is offered globally. Since the App processes your data locally on your device and does not send it to our servers, no international data transfer of your personal information is performed by us.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the App or in legal requirements. When we do, we will revise the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page and post the revised policy at the same URL. Significant changes may also be communicated within the App. Your continued use of the App after the changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
